When will my items go to auction and when will I get paid?

We request that you have your items to us at least 2 weeks before the auction date. This ensures that we have enough time to get it online, advertise it and have a full bidder inspection period. The sooner you get it here the sooner we can start the advertising process!

Consignment checks will be mailed out 14 business days after the auction has ended. All commissions and lot fees will be deducted from the total profit.

Can I set a reserve bid amount for my items?

Yes, we do allow reserve bids but only for higher priced items. As long as your reserve bid is fair and customary for what similar items are going for in our region then we will uphold all reserves. Don’t worry– we will help research and appraise your item!

Will you purchase my items or come pick them up?

All items that go through our auction are on consignment. We don’t purchase any items up front.

All items must be transported to our location for auction however, we can help facilitate a 3rd party transportation service for a large number of items if necessary.

How much do I have to pay you to auction my stuff?

This is obviously the most frequent question we get asked. Our commission is figured on a sliding scale based on the selling price for each lot. Here is our fee schedule:

$5.00 – $600 = 25%
$601 – $1500 = 15%
$1500 – $8000 = 9%
8001 and above = 8%

Each lot also incurs a $5 lot fee. This is for our warehouse team to photograph, write a description and upload your lot to the auction site.

WHY YOU GUYS?

Why would I sell at auction as opposed to craigslist or ebay?

Craigslist: Our consigners love that they don’t have to worry about creating posts, have strangers come to their homes or constantly fighting to get lowballed on fair prices. With RepoMax Auctions WE market your items, WE let bidders inspect your items, and then WE let THEM fight with each other over who gets to pay MORE for your items. What’s not to love??

Ebay: Our consigners love that they don’t have to worry about dealing with negative sellers feedback, having orders canceled or returned, paying ever-increasing fees and dealing with the headaches of the shipping process. Let us worry about feedback, unhappy buyers and the pickup and payment process. Are you really going to pack up and ship that huge china cabinet? There’s some things that just aren’t worth the hassle!

How are you different than other auction houses?

What really separates us from our competition is our marketing and advertising. Many auction houses are content to throw their auctions up on 2 or 3 websites and hope that people click through them and see something they want. Not us! We market and advertise on over 10 websites and create custom marketing for our featured items.

Our central location gives us immediate access to the whole tri-county area and our bidder base is currently the 3rd largest in Michigan! We will give your items the most exposure of any auction house in southeast Michigan!

Why an online auction? Aren’t live auctions better?

Live auctions are certainly fun to go to but in todays marketplace the online auction business is thriving! The number of bidders willing to spend the time and gas to drive to an auction without knowing if they’ll even win something is dwindling. Many live auctions only attract 100 bidders or less! RepoMax Auctions has a bidder base of over 4,500 and the number of online users who view our auctions is over 50,000! Although we admire the talents of a live auctioneer, its rare that our sellers ask us to do one.

BUSINESS LIQUIDATION OR CONTRACT DISTRIBUTORS

I have a full business or estate to liquidate. What are my options?

For consigners with a large number of items we have two options:

#1): Transport the items to the warehouse and go through the traditional auction process.

#2): An off-site auction where we lot and tag the items at your location and facilitate inspection and pickup times there as well.

I am a school, municipality or financial institution. How can you help us?

We can accommodate you with auction services at our location or at an off-site location. We understand the specifics of each industry and have a staff in place to handle your needs.
